Busseys Ford Sponsors the Green Canaries
Norfolk’s main Ford dealer, Busseys, has announced that it will be providing sponsorship for local wheelchair basketball club The Green Canaries.
Busseys marketing director, Paul Bussey, says “We are delighted to be supporting The Green Canaries. We have kitted out the whole team with stylish basketball shirts and tracksuit trousers and we hope their new strip inspires the team to many forthcoming victories! We look forward to monitoring their progress.”
The Green Canaries are a Norwich based wheelchair basketball club open to people of both sexes and of all ages. Both able bodied and disabled members are eligible, although participants will require their own sports wheelchair. The group started in March 2007 with 4 members and now has 17 members ranging from 10 to 45 years of age.
David Green, Chairman of The Green Canaries said “We are very grateful to Busseys for their kind support. The new kit looks fantastic and we look forward to wearing it on the court. This kind of sponsorship is vital for us to be able to continue to assist our members in boosting fitness levels while gaining new skills in a safe environment.”
From 1st September 2007, the group will be located at the Recreation Sports Hall in Norwich. There is also a weekly training session held at the City College Sports Centre between 20.00 – 22.00.
